The No1 Mk3 HT (Heavy barrel/Telescope) sniper rifle by Lithgow, Australia remains a firm must have in ones collection if possible, both as a valued collectible and as a desirable shooter.
Equipped with the Pattern 1918 scope, and an H marked target barrel which was derived by shortening early model Long Lee barrels, thus creating a stockier, stiffer smle barrel, the HT also came in high mount and low mount variations.
It also came with a comfortable cheek piece, with a curved recess for one’s cheek, a style difference from the No4 T sniper cheek piece.
On the battlefield it was a capable rifle and lethal 1000 yard shooting is well described in Australian accounts of fighting in WW2 and Korea.
